Turkey

DISCOVER THE BEAUTY, HOSPITALITY AND CULTURE OF THIS MAGICAL COUNTRY ON YOUR OWN PRIVATE YACHT OR TURKISH GULET …

DAYS ARE WARM AND SUNNY…

The Lycian Coast embodies the yachtsman’s paradise with her treasure chest of coves, bays, white sand beaches, mirror-calm waters perfect for water sports, favorable westerly winds, and pine forests that stretch out to meet the coast and the azure blue waters of the Aegean.

Picturesque ports with cobblestone streets and flowers cascading from window boxes above offer seaside cafes serving an endless variety of grilled meats & fish, freshly picked fruit, day-fresh vegetables and salads and taverns for a little nightlife.  Hospitable and gracious local villagers sell their handicrafts and you can languidly explore unspoiled landscape, shop exotic covered bazaars for colorful Turkish rugs sipping local apple tea, or visit the many museums and hear the melodic call to prayer from the graceful mosques.

MODERN MARINAS TO THE HISTORY OF MAN…

Ancient history literally rises from the fields and cliffs of Turkey and tumbles down to the coast where you can snorkel over sunken Byzantine towns and search the shores for ancient artifacts from Roman, Ottoman and Byzantine Empires.  You can cruise the coastline of the gods, follow the favorable winds of the “Blue Voyage,” delving into the history of man from the perspective of the sea.  Visit the amazing ruins at Olympus, the baths of Cleopatra at Haman Cove, and walk the marble roads of Ephesus, known as the best-preserved classical city in the eastern Mediterranean, the city of antiquity.

Among the blue skies and orange sunsets, ancient columns, Crusader castles, Lycian tombs on sheer cliff faces, ancient theatres and Roman baths emerge from this turquoise paradise against the backdrop of mountain peaks still snow capped in the spring.

Beyond the date palm lined foreshores and the shade of centuries-old olive trees, you can take a small boat up the Dalyan River to see the ancient Lycian rock tombs high above the local fishermen fishing blue crab from its heavily reeded waters and explore this refuge for sea turtles.
