CAPTAIN: Pascal Goger
Pascal’s family have been sailors for centuries – records show that one was a privateer captain! Pascal has sailed around the world over many years and his knowledge of the best spots to cruise or to dive is inexhaustible. Pascal has been a captain for over 16 years on many kinds of vessels such as cruise ships, high speed crafts and other passenger’s ships. He has served as Captain on DOUCE FRANCE for almost 10 years and has great charter experience. He particularly enjoys sharing DOUCE FRANCE’s stunning sailing performance with his guests. In his free time Pascal enjoys diving, spear fishing and helping to raise his son.
CHEF: Shailen Sewlall
Chef Shailen Sewlall hails from the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean, and it was there that he completed his professional training at the Hotel School of Mauritius. Shailen’s career has taken him to several top hotels throughout the region including the Lemuria Resort, Seychelles Islands. He worked there as Sous Chef under Robert Lalleman, a third generation French chef. Lalleman was acclaimed as one of the top seven chefs of Provence for his inspired cuisine at L’Auberge de Noves in Avignon. In 2004, Shailen decided to leave terra firma behind and joined the cruise ship “Pearl of Seychelles” as Head Chef. After a very successful year there, he came to join DOUCE FRANCE. As one would expect of a chef who comes from an island paradise, Shailen specializes in fresh seafood - usually caught from the yacht that day! He also lists fusion, a tantalizing blend of French and Creole cooking from his native Mauritius as a specialty. Shailen's cuisine receives rave reviews from all guests on board DOUCE FRANCE.
RELIEF CAPTAIN & FIRST MATE: Eric Pontoire
Eric used to be a sport teacher in Brittany, France during his younger years. Living close to the sea, he decided to work with his passion for the sea and wanted to discover the oceans. Ever since he was a kid, he loves all sorts of water sports, like fun board, diving, sailing, and kite-surfing so he will enjoy being your sports guide during the charter. Erik has also been a captain on several sailing boats, which results in having a lot of experience in different jobs on the yacht.
FIRST MATE: Valentin Lemarchand
Valentin was born in Brittany and continued the family tradition by becoming a sailor. His passion for the sea led him to the famous regatta, "The Route du Rhum" and "Transat Jacques Vabre".
He was a student officer on several ships before being skipper on catamarans. He is also a good kite surfer and surfer and will be please to help you in these activities.
ENGINEER: Jonathan Michel
Another Britain sailor, Jo is responsible for the main engines as well as the generators, water makers and all other technical systems. He worked on many other kind of ships and have solutions for everything on board.
DECKHAND and DIVE INSTRUCTOR: Anne Charlotte Pierre
She works on DOUCE FRANCE two years ago and makes a stop to consolidate her diver instructor experience in Egypt, Bahamas and French Indies.
She came back on Douce France with a great experience as diver instructor. She is very motivated to provide the best services to the guests. She works as deckhand, she will accompany the guests during the excursions to the best shore sites and ensure your guests have a trip to remember.
CHIEF STEWARDESS: Florelyn Bacatan
Nationality: Filipino, Florelyn (nick name Jing) used to work in Singapore for almost 5 years in 5 stars hotels before joining the yachting industry. Her experience, positive attitude and skills will make the stay of the guests more memorable, fun and unforgettable. Since some months, she put all her experience in Douce France to make sure that the guests are happy and satisfied. She will create awesome days with her beautiful smile.
STEWARDESS: Timi Rose Sarreal Bandong
She has been previously employed as Service Crew in many restaurant and resort in Philippines where she gain more knowledge and experience in dealing and attending with the customer’s needs. After that she continue to work in Singapore for a front line position where she became more exposed to different nationalities and culture. She join Douce France to sail the world with a very sincere enthusiasm.
