THE CAPTIVATING ISLANDS OF SPAIN

Mallorca ~ Ibiza ~ Menorca ~ Formentera ~ Cabrera

Sun loving tourists are drawn to the superb beaches, trendy resorts and lively nightlife of the Balearics.  Chartering a private yacht in these sun-splashed islands offers a unique opportunity to visit quaint villages, caves, prehistoric monuments, museums and monasteries.  Each of the Balearic Islands has a distinct landscape and unique qualities that make it special to visit.

MALLORCA
The largest of the Balearics and most culturally rich.  The island is famous for dazzling caves, refreshing clean waters, sandy beaches, and countless scenic anchorages. Sitting along its 250 miles of coastline are more than two dozen sport harbors and yacht clubs.
Start your charter in Palma, the capital of the island chain.  Enjoy the restaurants, nightclubs, bullrings and historic sites like Bellver Castle, Gothic Cathedral, Cloister of St. Francis and Miro Art Museum.
On the other parts of the island, you can explore quaint villages, the medieval Capuchin Monastery and Roman ruins near the Moorish city of Aloudia.

MENORCA
Although less fertile and colorful than Mallorca, Menorca’s ever-changing coastline offers excellent beaches, a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of opportunity for hiking and water sports.  The island is a veritable open-air archaeological museum with hundreds of fascinating prehistoric remains including megalithic sites, stone towers, burial tombs and baffling T-shaped stone monuments.
Mahon (Maó), the capital of Menorca, has been described by many captains as “one of the best natural harbors in the Mediterranean” and a perfect all-weather port with wonderful scenery and history.

IBIZA
Ibiza is a resort island with a dramatic topography.  Rugged cliffs are penetrated by small “calas”, steep-walled caves on the North coast.  A 13th century Gothic Cathedral dominates the historic white washed Old Town.  Ibiza’s narrow streets and colorful waterfront district are lively and festive, packed with shops, clubs, restaurants and fine markets.

FORMENTA & CABRERA
The two smallest Balearics are known for their laid back pace, tranquil atmosphere and scenic shoreline.  Cabrera is a national preserve and can be visited only by special permission from the Balearics Government.  Formentera is 11 miles off the coast of Ibiza and only accessible by boat.  A favorite anchorage, Espalmador, is a sandy isthmus with clear water and well protected
